Can someone give me detailed instructions on how to remove programs that ar
on when I startup XP every day

I right clicked propertie
I hit customize
I hit advance

I don't see a list of programs to uncheck or know what to do next. Thank

There are 2 places to look.

First, click the START button, then programs and then the "Startup Folder".
Do you see any programs listed there that shouldn't be? If so, you can just
right click on that item and choose "Delete" (You are just deleting the
shortcut that starts the program, not the program itself).

The second thing to do is to click the START button and then Run.
When the dialog box comes up, type MSCONFIG and click OK.
This will launch the MS Configuration Utility.

Click the last tab and look at what programs are set to start when Windows
starts. Uncheck anything that shouldn't be there and then OK. You'll be
prompted to reboot after that.
