STARTUP ISSUES

I recently have begun having some startup issues and I cant figure out why
(System Restore was wiped clean so that is not an option)

I receive a "0135 Fan Failure" message right after the RAM check....
Then the system starts prompting me for an Administrator password....but
this is my own machine at home, not on any network.

I have to shut down via the power button several times, before the computer
will kick into Windows XP Pro. It is sort of like a door catching a
lock....sometimes it works on the third try, sometimes it takes seven tries

Any ideas???

The mention of a fan failure indicates that the CPU fan has failed (or is
failing). The heat generated by the CPU cannot be reduced and the CPU
cooks. Characteristic of this is a computer which works intermittently
which sounds to be the case here.

Don't be tempted to try it one more time just in case it might work. At the
moment you may only have a damaged processor. If this finally fails whilst
using the computer (and especially when writing back to the hard disk (as
they do very often without you knowing) it could corrupt a file which could
corpse the computer.

My best advice is to get your computer to your local techie.
