Hi,

I seem to have a peculiar problem. Whenever I open Excel from Start ->
Programs , Excel opens fine. I then open the necessary file. However, the
trouble is when I open a file from the windows explorer or from the my
documents. A message pops up that i need to install Excel from the
installation pack which is at the HQ. Geez, can this thing be solved without
the msi pack?

Thanks for your assistance

Regards

Neil

You might try re-registering Excel. From Start->Run enter "Excel.exe
/regserver" (no quotes, there is a space before the slash). If that doesn't
help I don't know what the problem is.

Hi Jim,

Tried that. The windows installation package is asked for. Surprising isn't
it??

Hmmm. Well, I have found that when the installer starts up after a
/regserver and a Cancel, the registry entries are reset (which is all I
wanted to accomplish). Of course your situation may need more than that.
Just a shot in the dark.
