Startup Folder - How to remove programs...

How do I stop programs starting with Windows when Windows loads? I did
Start>Run>msconfig>and deseleted them from the startup> rebooted. But after I
have done this I get a message that tells me that windows is in diagnostic
mode and that I must allow them to start with windows if I want a normal
startup. What do I do?

Thanks.

MSCONFIG tells you where the value is that is telling the application to
load.. Actually go where it tells you those are and remove them.

The message is just telling you that you have changed the configuration on
the startup tab in msconfig. Since you did the change to delete startup
programs, you do not have a problem. There is a do not show again box in
the message window. Check the box and the message will go away until the
next time your make a change in msconfig.

Also, you could go to All Programs, Startup. Right click on the programs
you do not want and delete the shortcut.

Use selective startup as your standard setting. You can check which boxes
you want. I always have my PC start up like this.

First thing is to check options in any program you don't want to start
and see if there is an option to not have it load. If there is none,
then use msconfig.

When msconfig gives you that message just check the box to not have it
warn you again.

You get that if you make any change in msconfig, like inhibiting an
unwanted item, or even run it to look and then exit rather than cancel.
Check the box 'Do not tell me again' and click Exit
