startup disc

i have been trying to create a startup disc for vista home premium since i
got my new laptop i have tried to use dvd rw but every time the recovery
manager tells me to insert a blank disc it rejects it and tells me to insert
a blank disc thes are new discs could the problem be the type of disc im
using (pc line dvd-rw) ? should i be using dvd-r only? thanks for any help.

You must be referring to the restore disk creation function put on your
laptop by the laptop mftr. This is not part of Vista. Call the laptop
mftr.'s tech support immediately and have them deal with it. You could
have a bad DVD-RW drive.
