Startup blank dialog box

I

info

Hello all,

When I start Windows XP in normal mode and log in I get a blank dialog
box with a red X and YES and NO as options. When I log in in safemode
with networking I get a similar error but only with an OK option. If
you click the NO in normal mode it logs you out. If you click the YES
it logs in but with no icons, taskbar, Control Alt Delete doesnt work.
When I startup in normal safemode there are no problems.

I looked at msconfig, there was nothing added or changed, I have not
installed any aplications recently. I ran ad aware with no results. Spy

bot as well. I ran Hijack this and found nothing suspicious.

I found another form that mentioned Zone alarm was doing this, so I
uninstalled but to no avail. I do not know what to do at this point,
any help is greatly appreciated.

Right click the desktop/properties/desktop/customize desktop/web - if
anything is checked there uncheck it.

Other than that, I would check all users startup folder and the runkeys
located here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
