Starting XP Pro without the required user select

I remember there was a way for a single user system to go directly to
the desktop without having to click the username on the welcome screen.
I recall that the welcome screen popped up, but it just dropped and
continued to the desktop. I have a remote system running that has to get
to the desktop and execute it's proggies without some one being there to
click a name.

Thanks,

TweakUI for XP has an autologon feature. When using this tool the welcome
screen does appear briefly, then TweakUI supplies the credentials and the
logon occurs.

Others have mentioned the "control userspasswords2" message. That may work
too but I've never seen a brief appearance of the Welcome screen when using
that method of auto-logon.

Link for the XP Power Toys page where you can download TweakUI:

Check system requirements carefully as these have changed over time due to
service pack releases.

That little trick worked great. The system can now do it's thing without
user intervention at startup.

Thanks ByTor!
