starting with Access 2002 > upgrade in near future to 2007

Hi

Hopefully a quick answer to this one...

We want to start creating a database and have Access 2002 on one of our
machines. We hope to get Access 2007 on a couple of others and upgrade the
2002 version in the fairly near future (subject to cashflows, etc!).
The question is - is it worth starting to create the database in Access
2002? Will it be straightforward to convert to 2007 when the time comes? At
this stage it will just be the development of it - no fancy stuff just yet!

Many thanks

Go ahead. Designing in Access 2000 - 2003, and then deplying to some A2007
machines is fine. In fact, some developers work that way by choice.

It would be good for you to be aware of the differences. For example, you
might not want to waste time on custom toolbars/menus if users will
primarily see ribbons. This might help:

Thanks Allen - that's a great help. We can get things underway and look
forward to upgrading before too long.
