Problems with using/converting Access 2002 to Access 2007

After upgrading a few PC to Office 2007 and then attempting to use or convert
a 2002 Access database, some of the SQL queries are no longer able to
understand
the defined filter values and instead are pop/displaying a dialog box
requesting the value.

Since this only occurs with 2007, we are wondering if there is something we
can do to make the migration from 2002 to 2007 seamless?

Since our Access database are designed with an attempt to keep the database
operations as simple as possible. I'm of the opinion that Microsoft must be
aware of this issue and may have a built in solution.

I've heard that it may relate to how Access 2007 has changed how it handle
certain kinds of instruction.

Please provide an example of the SQL for a problem query and what the
parameter popup box is requesting.

my experience has been that sometimes (maybe 30% of the upgrades) some things
just don't work right; I have not seen any rhyme or reason to them; command
buttons, query, etc.

I have just remade the non working item. Luckily nothing has been major.
Once remade for one 07 machine it works fine on all of them. Rather than
being perplexed as to why a seemingly fine command button won't open a form -
- it is much quicker to simply delete it and make a new one....

I have noticed 07 to be particularly finicky in wanting primary key fields
in tables and in the queries of those tables...

Jerry,
It turned out to be references on the report properties. Specifically "Order
by" and "Order by On" which defaulted to the where statement reference from
the source query. Evidently in the 2002 version this information was not
being treated the same way as 2007. However, these references were
unnecessary I just removed them. Now the report a works in 2007.
