open messenger-
in the top row of icons -
the last one is a little document with an arrow
click the arrow and go down to "tools" - then options
on the left will show all the categories for settings
Choose "General" and
uncheck: open messenger main window when messenger starts
uncheck: allow automatic signin when connected to internet
After that close with the x in right uppercorner.
From the icon in the tray, right click and "sign out"
Then it will be in the tray with red x over-
right click the messnger icon and select "open"
check: remember me
uncheck: automatically signin
then your name will appear at the top
but will do nothing until you enter your password to connect
or you can right click the messenger icon and select "sign in"
if you select remember me and my password,
you will only need to click signin or signout.
(but you must remember to signout)
