Starting programs in XP in full-screen mode vs. window mode (and vice versa)

I'm looking for a way to start up an application (Microsoft Flight
Simulator, FS) in NONE-full-
screen mode (it starts up full screen by default). Once the program
is up and running, I can switch between full-screen mode and window
mode using the Windows XP keyboard shortcut ALT
+ENTER. However, I have a keyboardless tablet computer and so

I'd need to force the application to start up in a regular window, NOT
full screen.

Any ideas on how to do that kind of thing in windows (XP) ?

Thanks.

Right-click its executable, click Properties, change it to "Run: Normal
window". I doubt this will work; it should be the default for a program
or shortcut, but that's my suggestion.
