Starting programm with RDP makes logoff slow (W2K3 SP1)

We have a Windows 2003 SP1 server in Terminals Services Application Mode. We
have Windows 2000 Pro clients. If I use the RDP connector to automaticly
startup a program when I log on, it takes about half a minute to logout
again. If I log on without starting the program I can logout in just a few
seconds. I don't think it's a profile issue. The system seems to need half a
minute to "think things over" and then quickly copies the profile back to the
server.

Regards,

Sander.

Does this happen with all applications? Also if the starting
application is something like Notepad?
If it works OK with notepad, then check in Task manager on the
console which additional processes are running in the sessions when
you start your application.

Note that logon and immediate logoff *will* take 60 seconds, but I
would expect that to happen even if you only connect to a full
desktop session, without a starting application.

This is documented here by Citrix, but applies to rdp as well:

Published Application Sessions Take 60 Seconds to Log Off when
Windows 2003, Service Pack 1 is Installed
