Starting Over Again

I admit, I did everything wrong when upgrading two home PC's from W98 to XPPro. I'm tired of fighting with the application problems that resulted and need to get back to 98 and do the upgrade correctly. Where is the best place to find comprehensive instructions to uninstall XP/restore 98/upgrade to XP so I don't have these problems again?
