Starting on page iii, how to stop ii from showing?

I have Word 2003 and no matter what I do (inserting page breaks, section
breaks, telling it to start on page iii, etc.), it insists on displaying page
ii. How do I get it to stop?

After inserting section breaks, you need to unlink the header/footer in
question and then remove the PAGE field from the header/footer on which you
don't want a number printed.
