I would like messenger to start up when windows starts. However I would
like it to not automatically startup and sign in. Is there anyway to
accomplish this?

Greetings,

The only way to do this in Windows Messenger is to remove your saved Passport. To do so,
click the Start Button, then click the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the
Control Panel. Select your account name, and then on the left side of the screen, under
Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. In the window that opens, click the
Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click 'Remove'. Then restart Messenger and it will no
longer auto login.

If you want to keep your saved Passport but just not automatically sign in *and* are using
MSN Messenger 6.x, just open up the main Messenger window, click the Tools menu, then
Options, then General tab, and uncheck 'Allow automatic sign in when connected to the
Internet'.
