starting in safe mode

I have windows XP Home. When I start the computer I can
not get a display on my monitor. The monitor does work.
I tried to start in safe mode but noting. also tried to
start with xp disk and still nothing. any help would be
great.

Or did someone press the On/Off switch accidentally? Not being facetious --
it happens.
 
Reseat the video card and the monitor plug. I would try a different video
card also. Can you hear if your computer beep or not...?
