Starting in Inbox

You should be able to set that here: Tools menu > Options > Other > Advanced
 
Try this:
Open outlook express
Outlook Express>Tools>Options> General tab - select open with.inbox.
File-->exit
Re-open outlook
 
Bzzzt - Not Outlook EXPRESS.
