Hi

I tried that, and it is set to "Inbox"

The default folder it opens to is a sub folder however, not the main
Inbox folder...

My shortcut on my quicklaunch bar, which is the button i push to open
outlook, is:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OUTLOOK.EXE" /recycle

I just looked the \recycle setting up and can that this isn't the
issue.

Other ideas?

Is this also the folder you close Outlook with?
Does it happen after you first start Outlook after a reboot as well?

Another thing that could cause this is an addin.
Disable them all and see if it still happens. If not, enable them one by one
to find the culprit.
