Simply boot from the WinXP Pro installation CD. You'll be offered
the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

How do you know?

I ask those three questions in all seriousness. There is, for example,
adware you can get on your computer that tells you you have humdreds of
registry errors and that you need to buy their product to get rid of it.
However in reality there are no registry problems, and the only problem you
have is the adware that is trying to sell you something you don't need.

I wouldn't be so quick to do that. I'd like to hear more about your problems
before you do so. If, for example, you are infested with malware and you
reinstall Windows without ever finding out what your problems were and how
you got them, you will very likely repeat the same behavior that got you the
problems in the first place and quickly find yourself right back in the same
situation. But if you insist, read on for instructions.

You don't need the 6-part boot disk. Just boot from the Windows XP CD
(change the BIOS boot order if necessary to accomplish this) and follow the
prompts for a clean installation (delete the existing partition by pressing
"D" when prompted, then create a new one).

You can find detailed instructions here:

Get a free Ubuntu LiveCD disk and install Ubuntu on your 'puter. Then you
can say "goodbye" to viruses, missing files, etc. You'll be running a real
operating system with access to thousands of free software programs.

Cheers.
