Starting batch files w/o the console window

1. How may I start a batch file in the background, i.e. w/o the console
window?
2. How may I apply this to a batch file that has been scheduled as a task?

Start it from a vbscript with the .run method and specifying windowstyle as
0 or hex 20000000.
