Start yp and bootable CD for Win-XP-Pro, similar to startup-floppy for Win-98-SE

Earlier, in order to format and partition my HDD, I had been using the
Startup-floppy of Win-98-SE . CD is always better than the horribly
unreliable floppy. When I attempted to copy the contents of the
Win-98-SE-startup-floppy onto a CD (by burning the CD), 3 files (namely,
command.com , config.sys and autoexec.bat) weren't copied onto the CD, even
though all the other files and folders (such as fdisk.exe , etc) were indeed
copied. As such, this burnt CD is entirely a waste, it never functions as a
startup CD.

My OS being Win-XP-Professional, my intention being my frequent necessity to
format and partition my HDD (into 3-5 unequal partitions including one in
NTFS), kindly provide the appropriate information to me. I want a bootable
and startup CD.

Whatever app you use to do the partitioning should also have the ability to
create a bootable CD.

Most XP CDs are bootable.

Why do you have to frequently format and partiton your drive?

The XP CD is bootable. Boot from the XP CD and use Windows XP Setup to
partition and format.

See...
How to Partition and Format Your Hard Disk by Using Windows XP Setup
here...

Set the boot order in your BIOS so that the CD-ROM drive (Optical drive) is
ahead of the hard drive. Floppy, Optical drive, Hard drive, other is the
usual boot order.
