I am not sure if this is normal. Everytime I start up my
computer, I have to wait about a minute, once I see my
desk top items, before I can do anything. I click on
connect to internet, it only starts up a minute after
rebooting my computer.

You have Norton Antivirus?

If you have a PC with a Network Adapter, and you don't use DSL and aren't on
a LAN, go to Device Manager, right click the Network Adapter and left click
Disable. Because, when you boot your system and have a Network Adapter,
Windows wastes time looking for the Network, making for a slower boot. If
you later decide to do DSL or LAN, you can go back, right click the Network
Adapter and left click Enable.
