when i start my windows xp pro, there are so many
programs that fire up. i can see endless items i don't
use in the bottom right hand box of the task bar. how
can i just start the computer and then choose what i wan
tot start auto matically?

Check the individual program's themselves for an option to run at Startup.
If you can't find the option there, go to Start, Run and enter MSCONFIG Go
to the Startup tab and uncheck the item there.

Start> Run> type "Msconfig" ,OK. On the System
Configuration goto the startup tab, uncheck what you don't
want starting. Apply> OK. Next time you re-boot you'll
get a warning, check the box and ok.

Or

Do a Ctrl + Alt + Del and end the process on the Task
Manager. If you do this you have to do it everytime.

First look at the Options\Preference of each Prog - see
if there's anything about Running at Windows StartUp

Then if you found nothing by doing that....

In the RUN Box type MsConfig - look at the StartUp Tab
and uncheck anything you don't want to Run - but make you
don't uncheck necessary things...

Check out this Site for info on StartUp Items.....
