I am using cable broadband which starts automatically when I switch on. I get this message "2033E - The authentiication host or network is unavailable" How do I get rid of it. Sometimes I have to log off my account and log back in to get the internet working?

I have a couple of questions -

Are you using XP Home or XP Professional?

Also, does your Internet connection work properly if you
let the machine sit at the welcome screen or a login
prompt for half a minute before you try to log on?
