Won't blame anyone but me!! I , for some reason moved my start up folder from
C to D drive. Now I cannot get windows to boot. I have a Sony PCVRS420 with
Windows XP with all updates. How can I restore it without destroying data?

Have you tried different approaches to booting...such as Safe Mode or Last
Known Good Configuration?

If you have access to another machine you can install your drive in it as a Slave,
move the folder/files back and then reinstall/reconnect it in your machine.

You can also try using the Recovery Console to move folder/files back.
