Are all these needed to run at boot up?? By not having them start up at boot
up will the performance of the associated programs be hindered??
Start Up Command

nwiz niz.exe./install
Viewmgr C:\Program Files\Viewpoint.....
jusched C:\Prgram Files\Java\......
wkfud C:\ProgramFiles\MS Works\wkfud.exe
WkDetect C:\ProgramFiles\MS Works\WkDetect.exe
Microsoft Office C:\Prgra-1\Micro-2\Office10\OSA>EXE -b-|

Also anyone have a clue what programs these 3 are for?
nwiz niz.exe./install
Viewmgr C:\Program Files\Viewpoint.....
jusched C:\Prgram Files\Java\......

Hi,

There is only one way to find out, by removing them from the Start Ups and
this never really hinders the use of the programs unless you remove an Icon
that you really need in your task bar down by your clock. Even then the
program will work but you could miss something like an Anti Virus that for
some reason becomes disabled and has a big red check mark on it that you
don't see.

MS works and Microsoft office are two that always come back even if you do
remove them from startups, they like to be there. It looks like two are
related to Java and a couple relate to Viewpoint, which I highly doubt that
you need to have checked in your start ups.

Go ahead and remove the check marks that you don't really think you need,
and there are very few that are actually needed, most are junk. Tell it
Apply and Close and it will ask if you want to Restart your computer, tell it
yes and see if you have removed anything from your task bar down by your
clock that you really need, if not you have not touched the program, you have
only removed it from the startups.

That is why Safe Mode works faster than in Regular mode, it shuts down all
start ups and things work much faster.

From what I read, you probably know to go to Run and type in msconfig and
then click on the Startup tab when the screen appears.

A friend sent me a paper several years ago and it showed that very little
that likes to sit by the clock is ever really necessary. I have my volume
control, my Anti Virus and Firewall and Music Match. I can remove Music
Match from my Startups but it always comes back, so I have learned to live
with that one.

I have seen computers with up to 20 Icons sitting by the clock and then they
wonder why their system is running so slowly.

I hope this helps you out.

For viewpoint, do you have AOL installed? It uses a player from Viewpoint
for multimedia content ... AOL Radio, I believe.

Jusched is a Java updater i think. Nwiz is i think a Nvidia updater. I
wouldn't have thought that you need to have Office or Word starting up at boot.

Try doing a Google for them.
