XP-Pro -- running on AMD 2000 chip -- USB printer HP 6127. Computer
goes thru bios screen and then just before mouse appears, reboots with a
brief blue screen flashing by. Usually second time is a charm then runs
with no problem. Other issue is that printer will not work unless
turned on before boot and the double boot issue is only seen when
printer is turned on -- so seem to be related issue. Not a major
problem as everything then works when eventually on but wondered what
was going on?

Go to HP's website to see if there is an updated XP driver for the 6127.
Then right click My Computer , select Properties | Advanced tab. Under
'Startup and Recovery, hit 'Settings' button. Uncheck 'Automatically
restart'. Also while there make sure 'Write an event to the system log' is
checked. Then when your system stops (but doesn't reboot automatically) you
can go to the Event Viewer (under Administrative Tools) and see what is
happening.
