start up and device issues

I have two issues that I am trying to resolve with my
recently installed XP professional.
1. When I start up the computer my Canon Multipass
doesn't load. I get a message that mpservice is not
started. I know how to work around that to get it
started but want to know how to load it upon startup. I
have McAfee on this machine and wondered if that was
blocking the loading of the printer.
2. When I click on my computer, I get a flashlight
showing that the computer is searching for what is
loaded. The printer doesn't show up here either (it is a
usb device)

You should (uninstall and) install the Canon Multipass XP drivers. Type
Canon Multipass drivers +XP
at google.com.
