Start & quick-launch buttons slow to respond

I have an XP Home machine that has AOL 9.0, and was hit
hard with spyware. I have removed all spyware, except
VX2.h, cannot get rid of it. Edited the registry, but it
keeps coming back. Not sure if this is related, but when
I hit Start, there is a considerable delay, as well as any
quick launch buttons and anything in the system tray.
Eventually, the app launches, but just takes time. If I
launch from a shortcut on the desktop, it launches fine.
Any ideas? I am fresh out.

Hi,
I downloaded some programs off of shockware and Im having
the same problem.I dont think i have the particular file
that you do, but I guess it is related to spyware. How do
I check for it?

I used spybot and adware6. you can demo pestpatrol
(http://www.pestpatrol.com), but it won't clean, unless
you purchase full version for $40. I purchased the full
version, but still won't work. This link
(http://www.pestpatrol.com/pestinfo/v/vx2.asp) tells you
how to delete. I recommend following it to a
tee...beware, though, there are some registry settings
that you need to delete.
