Start page and potential virus.

Hi!

I've encountered a problem with my start-page option. It
started during surfing a while ago and I haven't been able
to correct it. The problem is that I am unable to change
my start-page from www.search-space.com permanently. Every
time I reboot the computer this site is reconfigured as
start-page. How should I do to get rid of it? Of course I
have tried change the start page and browsing away and
pushing the button with a house to return and it has
worked. But as soon as Windows is rebooted www.search-
space.com returns as homepage.

I use Norton antivirus 2004 but it has found nothing.

A hint anybody?

Go to this website:
"Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites"
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Download and run the program called: "CWShredder" and "HijackThis"

The program called: "Ad-aware" might be helpful too.

Lars-Erik,
search-space.com is a rather old Coolwebsearch trojan.
That site doesn't even exist anymore ....

How to remove Coolwebsearch and affiliates
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm#Coolwebsearch

Note: this type hijack indicates an unpatched machine, that is lacking
in "Defense". Please visit Windows Update to avoid these exploits.

frank

you have a browser hijacker. get spybot search and destroy
or ad-aware.
and don't click on pop ups . go to mozilla.org to get the
latest "firefox" . it has a built in pop up stopper.
