start menu

My start menu and my task bar have completely disappeared. I looked thru the
questions and tried kelly's site but I don't understand what I am supposed to
do there. I saved the file and answered yes but nothing happened. Somebody
please help

Press Control+Alt+Delete keys, (The dialog box for Windows Task Manager opens)
Select the File menu, then New Task (Run), (The dialog box for Create New Task
opens)
Type in "Explorer" (without the quotes)
Press OK button.

Hopefully Windows Explorer restarts with the Taskbar and Start button.
