Start Menu wont appear. nic won't initialize

After applying the last windows update patches, my system
will not restart properly. During the initialization
stage, my nic card is disabled and after prompted with the
login screen, my screen just stays blank and the only
thing I can access is Task manager. HELP!
 
goto File >Newtask Run type explorer
you will get the start menu
try to rollbact the installation if not i have heard
rumers about the windowsupdate that is not to good it
seems that certain viruses can infiltrate your computer
whilst you are updating to protect from them so scan your
computer use a stinger from nai.com or somthing
