Start Menu Problems

Hi, I do hope someone can help me with this issue. When I right click on my
start menu, click explore and then choose the public acces drive, my start
menu freezes. I wait for a long time and then it finally opens, but when I
choose a folder that houses my assignments, once again it freezes. Is there
anything I can do to combat this occurence. I also have high speed internet
connection. You can even email me (e-mail address removed)
