Start Menu is missing.(URGENT)

After downloading new updates and restarting my computer I realized that I
have no Start Menu and no one has been able to give me a clear answer on how
to fix it.
It is imperitive that this problem is fixed a.s.a.p. Please help. Thanks in

Sharon, you can bring it up by hitting Ctrl and Esc in an
emergency.
