Start Menu Icons buggy

Lee

Some of the icons on my xp style start menu are not working correctly, My
Documents, My Computer, My Pictures, My Network Places, and the Control
Panel icon on the right panel of the menu do not open anything when I click
on them, however I can still right click and select open and they will work.
Nothing happens at all when I left click. I removed them and added them
back, went to a classic view and changed it back, ran a registry corrector,
and then I tried a restore, and my pc wouldn't restore, so I did a repair of
windows, everything else is working fine, but still no response when I
access these icons. This is driving me insane since I am used to using
these as the primary way of getting to these folders. I am running xp
service pack 2, and didn't change anything software or hardware related when
this started.

How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance for any help,
Lee

Right-click the Start button, click Properties, Customize button,
Advanced tab, set those items to "Dis[play as a link".
