start menu gone

please help my daughter has been on the computer and the task bar and start
menu have disappeared from the bottom of the screen and i dont know how to
get the back

Check to make sure it hasn't been shrunk to zero lines high. Move the mouse
cursor to the very bottom of the screen and wiggle it slightly up and down,
trying to turn it into a two-headed arrow. If it does, click and drag that
top border up to make it the size you want.

Press and hold the CTRL key on your keyboard, then press the ESC key.
Does your Start menu appear? If so, click 'All Programs' then highlight
'Accessories' then 'System Tools' then click 'System Restore'. Follow
the instructions to 'Restore your PC to an earlier time'. Pick a date
when you're sure your Start Menu was still working. Good Luck.

sorry homer did not work so i just re started my computer and the bar is back
