start button

When i click the start button and scrool up to open a
program all the options to the left of the arrow kind of
fades in. Is there a way to shut this off or do I have a
problem?

Right click My Computer on the desktop/Properties/Advanced/
Performance/Settings/Fade.....

Kevin, rt click on Start>select Properties>Customize>Advanced.
and rt click MyComputer>Select Properties>Performance-settings>Visual
Effects.
