Start button and task bar disappeared, Can't get rid of dialogue box "task folde

Anyone know how to fix:
Start button and bottom task bar disappeared. Also have
an open dialogue box task folder open and can't remove it
fom my desktop. Have Windows Xp running on a Sony Vaio
desktop.

Start button and bottom task bar disappeared.

Several possibilities. Start with F11, which toggles the Full screen mode.

Also check to see if the taskbar has been sized to "0 row" high. (Look for
the taskbar edge on a side of the screen. If you see it, drag it outwards.)
