Start bar appeared for no apparent reason on right side of screen

I don't know what I may have done, but the start menu
appears on the right side of my screen instead of the
bottom, I have tried just about everything and no luck in
moving it to the bottom of the screen.

There is a "magic" area you need to grab to move the Task Bar. It is the
rectangular area containing the clock and systray. Be sure you have unlocked
the task bar before you try this, and lock it afterwards. (right-click and
uncheck "lock the taskbar")

Any unoccupied bit will do. But as you drag, nothing appears to happen
- it is when you release near the middle of the edge that you want that
it will snap into place
