Standby

I dont know what happen but for some reason I cant select "Standby" from the
Shut down menu, can you tell me what it can be?

Make sure that you have all of the latest hardware
drivers installed. When I first built my computer and
got XP installed, it didn't give me the option to put it
into standby until I installed updated video drivers. It
is unlikely, but it is possible that your system doesn't
support standby.

Thanks for your responce, I've installed the latest drivers for all of the
hardware on the system already, and I have installed all Windows updates, my
motherboard supports standby and hybernate, but I still cannot get it to do
either, I checked the BIOS settings and they seem correct, any other
suggestions?

It is possible that your bios on your motherboard doesn't
allow or has a setting that is not permit standby. I had
an older computer where that was the problem though since
your using xp your computer is probably more recent and
has a standby capable motherboard.

Perhaps you could check the motherboard documentation.
