I am using Win XP Pro without SP2. For the last couple of days my system
hasn't been resuming from the stanby mode as it should be. It goes into the
stanby mode fine but when I try to bring it back (by pressing any key) the
whole system REBOOTS and after rebooting it gives an error message saying
that the system has recovered from a fatal error. I have tried to use system
restore but that didn't help.

Could anybody help please??

you likely have a driver issue. One or more of them are not supporting
the standby function.
Either update the driver or, roll back them..You should download xpsp2.

As far as installig SP2 is concerned i am afraid that it will have
compatability issues with my other applications so I am more inclined towards
updatig or rollbacking the drivers. Could you please tell me how could I
update or rollback the drivers for standby??
Thanks for your first reply.
