Standby Problems

Hello!

I recently added a hard drive and put a new copy of XP on my machine.
Everything is fine except that I cannot standby or hibernate. I get this
error:

THE DEVICE DRIVER FOR COM2 DEVICE IS PREVENTING THE MACHINE FROM ENTERING
STANDBY (OR HIBERNATION). PLEASE CLOSE ALL APPS AND TRY AGAIN.

I have the following setup:

ASUS P4P Motherboard with 1.6 GHz P4
512 Megs RAM
60 Gig HD
100 Gig HD
GeForce 4 MX AGP card
Soundblaster Audigy 2 Card
NIC Card for Cable Internet
Pinnacle AD/VD Video Capture Card
USB Printer
USB Scanner
USB Compact Flash Reader
USB Webcam

All of this worked fine (Standby mode) until I reloaded windows. Which item
is causing this? I am leaning toward the NIC card, mainly because it is the
newest card in my machine

Thanks,
Brian

Probably an unsigned driver causing it. Check all the drivers for
your devices to make sure they're MS certified. The NIC for cable
you mentioned.... does it use a separate driver that was installed
from a CD that came with the NIC? If so, you might want to remove
the NIC from device manager and re-install it. This time allow XP to
install the driver (if one is available). If there is no XP internal
driver available for your NIC, you'll have to use the supplied one.
Check the maker's web site to see if they have updated drivers
available.
