Hibernate instead of Standby (XP Home)

When I select Standby, the machine goes into hibernation.
While the Standby button is still there, I can't get it to
Standby; it only hibernates. I've not added any new
devices, but suspect the Plus! Digital Media Edition
somehow is responsible. Even after deinstalling that, I
still can't get Standby back. Any ideas? Thanks.

If this happens when you click on Standby without holding Shift key down AND
if you don't ever use Hibernate, go to Control Panel, then Power Options in
C. P. Select the "Hibernate" tab and uncheck "Enable Hibernate". This can
always be undone by a re-check. Just remember that Standby still keeps the
computer on, whereas Hibernate saves your Desktop to HD before powering
off.
