problems entering standby and hibernation

When I try to enter standby or hybernation mode I get the
following message:"The device driver for
the 'Communication Port (COM1)' devices is preventing the
machine from entering standby/hibernation. Please close
all applications and try again. If problem persists you
may need to update this driver." I tried the first
suggestion and do not know what they mean by the second.
Where do I find this driver for 'Communication Port
(COM1)' to update and how do I update? I think if I
found the driver I could reinstall it but I cannot find
it anywhere on my install disk or on-line.

Any help out there?

If you have a device using that port there must be a phisical connection in
the rear of the box in a port named COM1...
