standby option

Hi,

I have windows XP pro and I can't put my computer on
standby, I can see the icon by it's grey and I can't
click it. The restart and turn off button work fine.
How can I fix the problem?

Were you ever able to put in standby? In other words, did standby
work previously, or has it never worked?
