Standby Mode

I run WinXP-Home.

I can put my computer into Standby Mode manually...but I cannot get it to
correctly go into Standby automatically. When it has gone into Standby...it
is hung or will not "awake" with using mouse or keyboard. I have to end up
turning it off with the power button.

When I've put it into Standby manually...it awakes just fine with mouse
movement.

Any ideas or suggestions?

To put the computer into standby 'automatically' go to Control Panel > Power
Options and set your preferences.

To have your mouse and/or keyboard wake your computer from standby, go to
Control Panel > System > Hardware tab and select Device Manager. Right-click
on your mouse and/or keyboard and select Properties. You'll find the option
there.

I have done all of that...the problem is it will not come out of standby
mode. I've checked the options for the mouse. I can bring it out of
standby when I manually put it in that mode.
