Standby mode is momentary, then computer starts running again?

That's it...pretty simple problem.
I put the computer on Standby, HDD's stop spinning,
screen goes off...then within about 10-30 seconds, the
computer comes out of Standby mode and is running again.

Why does it do this and how can I keep it in standby mode?
It used to stay in Standby mode until I started it again,
but it recently started taking itself out of standby
mode, almost (if not) every time I put the computer in
standby mode.

Any suggestions welcome.

Did you recently install any new hardware or drivers? Sometimes poor drivers
will prevent the machine from going into standby.

Did you recently change any BIOS settings or add a computer or other device
to your network? Or recently start using a modem? You may have "Wake on Lan"
or "Wake on Ring" or some other "Wake On" thing enabled in your BIOS.
