Hi. I was wondering whether there is any way to have Windows XP (sp1
maintain its network connection to my cable modem while in standb
mode, or if it will always drop my connection as soon as it goes int
standby.

My own networking hardware is simply an ethernet port on my motherboar
connected to my motorola cable modem, but I do have a router I could us
if that would make any difference.

Thanks in advance

Standby and Hibernate functions were designed for laptops to extend battery
life. Desktops needn't use it. Just select to power off the monitor and hard
drive after a certain period of inactivity.
