I just installed XP Professional (a new installation...I
formatted the drive and then did the install). When I go
to log off or shut down the computer, the log off and
turn off options are available, but the standby option is
greyed out. How can I correct this?

Hi Suzanne,

One or more of the device drivers on your system does not support that
function, that is why it is not available. The solution may be to update all
system drivers to the latest available WindowsXP-compatible version from the
manufacturer of the hardware component (not Windows Update). There is no
guarantee that this will correct it, as standby is not supported on all
systems, and you may not be able to find compliant drivers for everything.
