Standby->Hibernate. Right-shift works, left-shift doesn't.

I'm using a Dell I2500 laptop under WinXP Home SP2.

I don't know what I did, but the left-shift key no longer changes the
Standby option to Hibernate, although the right-shift key still does.

Any help?

Of course, you confirmed that this key still works as it should when
used, for example, in Notepad, yes?
